The meeting is primarily in person with few hybrid sessions,
links to the virtual sessions are available in the table below.

DAY 1 – Monday 25 September 2023 – Venue INRIM

 

Meeting with Lead Center Representatives, GSRN Chairs and GCOS Secretariat. Discuss the function of the Lead Center (LC)

 

DAY 2 – Tuesday 26 September 2023

Morning: GSRN Session 1 – Venue: INRIM
  • Welcome (5min) - Andrea Merlone - Director of Research INRIM
  • Welcome from AOPC Chair  (5min) - Peter Thorne
  • Tour de table (5 min)
  • Meeting logistics - Andrea
  • Aims and outcomes of this meeting: (30 min) co-chairs: Tilman Holfelder and Sarah Gallagher
  • Report on the outcomes of Monday’s meeting with the LC (30min) - co-chairs

Coffee (15 min)

  • Pilot stations Nomination: introduction, issues, list to be approved later in the meeting (1.5hr) – Tim Oakley

Afternoon: GSRN Session 2 – Together with MMC-3 Opening - Venue: Castle
  • Presentation on GSRN overview (co-chairs)
  • Presentation on GSRN requirements (Andrea and Andrew)

DAY 3 – Wednesday 27 September 2023

Morning: GSRN Session 3 – Venue: INRIM
  • Further discussion on pilot stations, if needed (1 hr)

 

Parallel session:

  • SG3 and SG7:
    • SG3: Station metadata/data – output for approval (document on what needs to be delivered by the station) – lead by Andrea and Andrew
    • SG7: postprocessing metadata/data – output for approval (create GSRN uncertainty document) – lead by Jianxia
  • SG4: Implementation Plan for pilot phase – output for approval (Implementation plan for pilot phase document) - lead by Tim

 

Lunch at INRIM – From 12:00 to 13:15

Afternoon: GSRN Session 3 – Venue: INRIM
  • Parallel Sessions continue (1 hour)
  • Plenary: Presentation of output documents to Plenary

DAY 4 – Thursday 28 September 2023

Morning: GSRN Session 4 - Venue: Castle
  • Discussion on proposed activities:
    • Presentation of website and discussion
    • Capacity Development/Training – co-chair
    • Documentation – co-chair
  • Review of updated approved documents (if identified in Session I) or approval of documents.

Lunch at Castle – From 12:00 to 13:15

Afternoon: Site visit and cultural visit
  • A GSRN affiliated research facility - Andrea
  • Site visit – cultural visit

DAY 5 – Friday 29 September 2023 – Venue Castle
